"What makes this work rewarding is the client's reaction when they see there's a path through the crisis, the recognition that there is hope."

John D. Connor, CTP, CFE
Principal
John Connor came to Anderson Bauman Tourtellot Vos with 23 years' experience in the financial management of manufacturing operations. His corporate career was distinguished by both innovation and aggressive cost containment. As director of finance for a Fortune 500 company, he implemented one of the first activity-based costing systems in the U.S. At the same company, he directed the implementation of advanced information technology and analytical tools to reduce cost and improve competitive advantage.
He joined ABTV in 1997 and as a turnaround manager has served clients in over twenty industries. He has served as COO or CRO for companies ranging in size from $20 million to $200 million. As a consultant he has concentrated on financial and operational restructuring and has helped firms develop strategic plans, retool their organizations, better manage working capital, and improve their credibility with their lenders and other creditors. For smaller clients, he has successfully guided the implementation of economical PC-based enterprise systems, usually as a replacement for costly legacy systems. Using the robust reporting tools included with today's software, Mr. Connor provided client training in the development and use of a daily "dashboard" to help in managing the business after the consultant leaves. The systems also provided improved and continuous monitoring of collateral quality during the heavy scrutiny of lender forbearance. Client credibility with the lender was restored in each case.
Mr. Connor has earned the designation of Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) from the Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals and the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He is an honors graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a BA degree in dual majors of accounting and management. He received his MBA degree from the Bryan School of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
