Edward Lipscomb brings to his clients the benefit of more than 30 years in corporate finance, operations management, general management, and turnaround management. As he progressed in his corporate career, Ed led numerous performance enhancement initiatives in various manufacturing and distribution businesses, serving at times as an internal turnaround professional. He was recognized as a problem solver who could effectively work cross functionally to quickly identify problems and implement solutions. He directed an ERP installation, took the lead in restructuring a hierarchical company to a flattened configuration, led the team that renegotiated an inflexible union contract to improve operating efficiency, spearheaded business and process re-engineering initiatives, and involved himself deeply in strategic and operational planning.
As a certified turnaround consultant, Ed has led numerous companies through the process of identifying, planning, and implementing strategies to enhance value for all stakeholders including utilizing the Chapter 11 process when economically justified. He has served as Chief Restructuring Officer for troubled companies in industries such as automotive, construction materials, electronics, and textiles, and has significantly enhanced stakeholder value in each case. He has actively managed the Chapter 11 process in Florida, Georgia, Virginia, and North Carolina, and has been recognized by these courts as an expert witness.
Ed earned his BS and MBA degrees from Louisiana Tech University and has earned designations as both a Certified Turnaround Professional and Certified Fraud Examiner. His background in many disciplines and industries has allowed him to be very effective at quickly identifying critical success factors and implementing strategies to preserve and enhance value. It has also provided Ed with a database of best practices across multiple industries which he then brings to ABTV's clients.
