John Magee's experience includes more than a quarter of a century of experience in corporate banking and turnaround management. He advises clients on business and organizational strategy, capital structure, shareholder relationships and corporate governance, as well as on profit improvement programs. He has experience in both the manufacturing and service sectors including building materials, chemicals, contracting, consumer products, entertainment, professional sports, textiles, machinery & equipment, electronics, trucking, professional services, financial services, environmental services, non-profits, utilities, meat processing, health care, retail, restaurants, real estate and hotels.

For six years Mr. Magee was president of a leading management consulting firm where he served clients as chief negotiator, chief restructuring officer, chief operating officer and chief executive officer.

For a failing telemarketing services company he restructured debt and helped it survive by selling a major subsidiary. For a multidivisional NYSE firm he restructured debt and developed a plan to deal with bank and insurance company lenders. Part of the company was sold and the remainder was split into two companies, both of which survive today. Serving a leading manufacturer of brass and stainless steel valves which defaulted on its debt, Mr. Magee spearheaded a cost reduction and rightsizing program which led to a successful restructuring of debt. For an auto industry supplier that borrowed too heavily, he negotiated a forbearance agreement with the major lender and engineered the sale of assets representing 80 percent of the company's capacity.

Mr. Magee has earned the designation of Certified Turnaround Professional from the Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals. He has served on the board of directors of the Turnaround Management Association and is the immediate past president for the Carolinas Chapter. He received his BA degree in American history from Washington & Lee University and an MBA degree from the Darden School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.
